Jonker(1) Jonker JS1B Revelation 104000 Euro (or other reasonably negotiated price)
L/D=53, VNE=290km/h
$ ( Warsaw, Poland) posted by Krzysztof Trzesniowski (1) on 05/01/2024

Jonker
JS1B Revelation 104000 Euro (or other reasonably negotiated price;
equivalent in US$ is of course OK)

The
JS1 Revelation is a high-performance single-seat sailplane
with
18 meters wingspan
of
conventional layout with a T-tail
and
full-span flaperons.

Max
Glide Ratio (L/D): 53 [120 km/h at 600 kg; 100 km/h at 450 kg]

Aspect
Ratio: 28.8

Wing
Loading: 34-54 kg/m2

VNE=290
km/h

This
is one of the easiest to fly competition grade gliders I have ever
flown. Even full of water at maximum allowable weight of 600 kg total
weight she is easy controlled. Very pleasant to fly, comfortable and
efficient in thermalling, easy to center. And she shines at high
speeds!

Max
Glide Ratio (L/D) of 53 gives you a lot of options when choosing your
flight strategy.

Wings
repainted and optimized at Jonker factory in November 2013 (due to
typical printout of spars after one year after manufacturing it is
beneficial to check and correct wings surfaces exactly to the
original wing profile; the difference is subtle, but in order to
optimize the glider performance it is advisable to do that if the
glider fly in competitions; once corrected the problem do not
reoccurs).

Glider
has never crashed, never needed repair beyond normal usage and
maintenance. Full maintenance history available at service center.

The
glider was flying in Europe from the beginning. First in the
Netherlands, then in Poland. Jonker has agreed with the South African
Aviation Authorities to extend the airworthiness certificate in
Europe at selected maintenance centers. There are few of them in
Europe. I am not sure how it is organized in other parts of the
World. It was first maintained in the Netherlands, and since I am its
owner, in Poland. I've never had a problem with prolonging CoA for
the next year. The same with the insurance.

The
glider is in Międzybrodzie Żywieckie near near Żar Mountain and
Bielsko Biała in South Poland. After finishing my corporate life I just realised I do not have to burn emotions in the glider. From the other point of view I have seen so many beautiful views AND luckily went through so many difficult situations that I assessed that it is maybe enough.

My
dear friend,
Sebastian
Kawa, with whom we were e.g. flying together in Himalayas, w
as
using my gliders from time to time
(e.g.
Previdza 2016, and many individual explorations)
.
Here is an example of one of his winter
flights:
